- Front End Conceptual 3D Layouts at your discretion – Many engineering companies will give you a throw down layout that eventually becomes the foundation of your new plant. All aspects of this throw down, good and bad, stick with the project through its life cycle. Equipment at plant coordinates with a 7/16″ at the end. With a little oversight a 3D layout can help you assess bulk materials, site selection, and grade changes on the front end that can then be given to an engineering company to bid from. You already know what to expect and the engineering company knows you know.
- Balance of Change and Speed – As 3D design software has increased turn around time most engineering companies have used it to their advantage monetarily to both extremes. They give you a fast design with no thought as to key design criteria or they let junior project managers make changes till your budget or theirs is blown. - P&ID Walk-downs and Documentation Updates- Up to date P&IDs are critical for OSHA’s PSM standards. Independence Design has the experience to keep your documentation up to date in all of the native formats and even convert them into CadWorx intelligent P&IDs in order to make any future changes and MOCs easier to manage. Many times Engineering companies will draft P&IDs by any means necessary during the quick turnaround needed during fast paced jobs. The result is a functioning plant constructed before deadline, but with out the most accurate of documents. Sometimes the P&ID software will not even match the 3D design software. Independence will take your existing P&IDs in whichever software they were drafted and convert them into Cadworx P&ID and if needed convert them into intelligent P&IDs with a custom Access Database with queries and reports filtered out to the necessary information you need.
- As-Built Services – Independence Design has the special knowledge and ability to bring 3D models together from multiple sources in NavisWorks to help bring as-builts to the next level without needing all drawings to be the same formats and software. Along with traditional field walk-downs and today’s affordable 3D scanning techniques Independence Design can bring your drawings and 3D model back to an accuracy level that you are comfortable with.
- Piping Volume Studies– With EPA regulations requiring every amount of gas vented to be accounted for, knowing what your complex piping systems volume holds can be very critical. Also on draining and filling systems such as hot oil, heat medium, amine, glycol, and the like, knowing what you will need to order and have on site will be beneficial to you. Independence Design can quickly derive piping volumes from 3D models (in most cases).
